Ring Sizing Tips

Ring sizing is more of an art form than a science. Each finger is different and each of our rings is different. As a general rule of thumb, wider rings should be larger than thinner rings for the same finger. The ideal situation is to allow us to size your finger in person. When this is not possible, we have to get creative.

Rings are sized using one of two methods. The method we use is 'along the bottom'. Using a sizing mandrel, the ring is measured based on where it touches the mandrel. Other places measure 'on centre'. They use the measurement that is behind the centre point of the ring. If you are having a ring checked by someone other than us, make sure you know how they are measuring.

If you need to find out your partners ring size for a surprise present, there are a few tricks. The obvious one is to borrow a ring that she wears, but you need to know which finger the ring is worn on. The ring finger on the right hand can be up to 3/4 of a size bigger than on the left hand.
