What do I need to know about platinum?
The most precious of the precious metals, platinum’s use in jewellery production has increased recently in the past few years. The most common platinum alloys used to make jewellery are 90 and 95 percent pure platinum respectively. Although chemically inert, very durable, and extremely malleable, platinum must be worked at a higher temperature than most other metals. It is the ideal metal for setting stones.
